    Default Euro 2008 - 16.06.2008

    1. Austria - Germany

    Last 5 matches for Austria:
    Austria - Netherlands 3-4
    Austria - Nigeria 1-1
    Austria - Malta 5-1
    Austria - Croatia 0-1
    Austria - Poland 1-1

Team news: Austria will miss suspended central defender Sebastian Proedl. He is likely to be replaced by Martin Hiden, who will play his 50th international for Austria. Apart from that, trainer Hickersberger is likely to rely upon the core of players who have served him so well thus far.
Probable starting: Macho, Stranzl, Pogatetz, Hiden, Garics, Leitgeb, Aufhauser, Ivanschitz, Űmit, Harnik, Linz

    Last 5 matches for Germany:
    Switzerland - Germany 0-4
    Germany - Belarus 2-2
    Germany - Serbia 2-1
    Germany - Poland 2-0
    Germany - Croatia 1-2

Team news: Germany have been boosted ahead of the crucial Group B match against Austria with the news that Lukas Podolski and Philipp Lahm will be fit to start. Podolski damaged an ankle in Thursday's 2-1 defeat to Croatia, while Lahm hurt his calf, but both will be available for a match Germany must not lose. However, left-back Marcell Jansen looks set to miss out with a shoulder injury as Germany aim for the quarter-finals. Bastian Schweinsteiger will be absent following his red card against Croatia. Lukas Podolski, scorer of all three German goals so far, has overcome an ankle injury and will play. He is likely to shift up to attack alongside Miroslav Klose, with Mario Gomez losing his place after two unconvincing displays. Clemens Fritz should drop back from midfield to right-back to cover the absence of Jansen, with Philipp Lahm moving over to the left. Thomas Hitzlsperger and Tim Borowski could then come into midfield to give the side more creativity.
Probable starting: Lehmann, Lahm, Mertesacker, Metzelder, Fritz, Frings, Ballack, Hitzlsperger, Borowski, Podolski, Klose

    1st Prediction: 2(WON)(1.43 - Pinnacle)
    2nd Prediction: 2 (-1)(Lost)(2.00 - BetDirect)

    2. Poland - Croatia

    Last 5 matches for Poland:
    Macedonia - Poland 1-1
    Poland - Albania 1-0
    Poland - Denmark 1-1
    Poland - Germany 0-2
    Austria - Poland 1-1

Team news: Beenhakker is again without his captain, Maciej Żurawski, who strained a thigh against Germany, and Marek Saganowski is expected to deputise in attack. Midfielder Mariusz Lewandowski will earn his 50th cap for Poland if he recovers from injury in time and plays. But he, Marcin Wasilewski, Ebi Smolarek, Jacek Krzynowek and Jacek Bak will be suspended for a possible quarter-final match if they receive a second yellow card.

    Last 5 matches for Croatia:
    Croatia - Scotland 1-1
    Croatia - Moldova 1-0
    Hungary - Croatia 1-1
    Austria - Croatia 0-1
    Croatia - Germany 2-1

Team news: Bilic will give 32-year-old defender Dario Simic his 99th cap and the captain's armband, making the player the only Croatian to have appeared in all three of their European Championship campaigns. Robert Kovac, Josip Simunic, Luka Modric, Darijo Srna and Jerko Leko have all received a yellow card and will be suspended for Croatia's next match should they receive another, so they are unlikely to feature, Bilic saying: "It would be madness to field first-choice players who are on one yellow card and we also have a few with minor knocks and bruises who need a break." Striker Ivan Klasnic will probably start, and thus become the first player to take part at a European Championship after a kidney transplant. In January last year he suffered kidney failure and, his body rejected the kidney donated by his mother he had further surgery to replace the rejected kidney with one donated by his father. Within nine months, the 28-year-old forward was back in action with Werder Bremen.

    1st Prediction: under 2.5(WON)(1.85 - Centrebet)
    2nd Prediction: Time of first goal 27-90(WON)(2.00 - Bet365)

    Good Luck!!!
