I AGREE WITH YOU, BUT WHEN U THINK WHAT WOULD BE THE PRIZE WINNERS GETTING - DONT FORGET THAT OPPONENTS LOSE THE SAME PRIZE. AE THEY REALLY READY AND WEAK ENOUGH TO LET ZENIT EASILY GRAB 1mln EURO?

AND HERE WE START THINKING HARDER.

LETS SHARE WHAT WE HAVE ON THIS GAME, I KNOW THAT POGREBNYAK(the best player of Zenit) IS OUT,SINCE HE GOT YELLOW CARDS IN LAST TWO GAMES.

    your turn.

Although i am biased as a diehard Rangers fan, i do not think that Zenit will have it all their own way. Their style of play is counter-attacking as is Rangers and if Walter Smith holds with his European formation of 4-5-1 the Russians will be forced to come out and attack, opening the game up for us. Having said that, with the SPL having the genius idea of refusing to cancel the Dundee United match at the weekend, our lads will be tired, as they showed against Motherwell. Darcheville will be rested at the weekend and i expect a Boyd-Cousin partnership with Thomson and Davis retaining their midfield roles from the previous game. Boyd will be champing at the bit to score against Zenit to prove a point to Smith as to his starting place, and the Russians will still have to get past the rock of our season and Scottish Player of the Year, Carlos Cuellar
I will obviously be betting heavily on a Rangers win!! (although thats a heart bet, not head!)

I know this thesis is not solid at all.. we can compare 2 teams according to their matches with 2 other different teams
but come on... Zenit smashed Bayern 4-0 ! this was the worst result of the team in the last 31 years in Europe... Bayern who were supposed to win UEFA easily
On the other hand we have Rangers who couldnt score in 2 games to Fiorentina - i dont say Fior is a bad team but Bayern is much stronger and quallified team. Rangers didnt show any desire to win - just to go resting asap... maybe it was a hard season for them - i dont know - but i dont think they are capable of winning UEFA
For me Zenit is going to take it - something like 2-0 i guess. But lets see

Yes, Rangers are tired due to the ridiculous fixture list we have. I amnt trying to take anything away from Zenit, but remember that Bayern had to attack Zenit due to the away goal which played into their hands as a counter-attacking force. Remeber as well that this was a Bayern team that drew with Aberdeen, a team they should have hammered. Yes, it was a tremendous result for Zenit and yes we didnt score against Fiorentina in 2 games, but look at it from the other point of view too : they didnt score against us in 2 games with the likes of Mutu and Vieri. Neither did Sporting Lisbon and we held Barca to a 0-0 draw at Ibrox in the CL. We conceded NO goals at Ibrox in the uefa cup campaign, so i do not think Zenit will find it so easy to score especially without Pogrebnyak as Roger-d said. I see a very low-scoring game and hope that we can nick it 1-0

    Guys,
maybe it will be draw, and it oges till penalties, so, i am not taking clear win in this game, i want to bet Zenit to lift the cup, since they did smth since last year, they suddenly became champions in russian league, eventhough Spartak Moscow could overtake the, but i saw the last game of Spartak Moscow with Saturn, the team that Spartak could disaster, but they drew 0-0, if they would win that game, Zenit would be behind for 2 points, smells like there was some other game gong on beind the scene. And now they won Bayer Leverkussen 1-4 away.... and then drew with Bayern 1-1 and won 4-0. Zenit IS NOT THE STRONG TEAM AS THEIR RESULTS SHOW. I live in Moscow, and i know what i am talking about. Zenit has DONE something with UEFA thing. I love Rangers, i ve bet a lot on them, and never lost even when they lost to Celtik 3-2, i took that Rangers will score. But Zenit is somehow related to Russian Mafia and they will get this cup this year.

Sorry for honesty, at least this is my opinion.

    Good Luck.

P.S.Lets better bet on another games till then

    Default zenit

    hello guys.
As i am a big supporte for zenit offcourse i wish if they win but, there is a theory there is not even one time a team reach the final from the champions league and did not win, this match is very risky, there is someone wrote that they are attached to the mafia buisness and for this they won the last russian league, specially at that last match for spartak with saturn, but last year saturn just lost one game at their home, and what i saw last year zenit was more more stronger than cska or lokomotive or spartak even, i wish they do it in the uefa they totally deserve it, from 6 months before i said that they will reach minimum the semi final or may be more even, the thing is them trainer is a legend and try to remeber what he do with korea at world cup 2002, the players are play with heart before the money take a place, they have Tomechuck the captain and one of the most descant leaders on the play ground, i will not bet on this game, but my feeling say that they will do it, at least because i spent 2000 euro to watch this game at manchester

    Default Rangers for me.

Joint top scorer Pogrebnyak has been the key to success for Zenit, even while resting in Holland he took part in a friendly against Alkmaar and scored, the boss says losing him is a blow, but he is replaced, I think his loss will effect this game lots more than Advacaat wants to admit, for fear of unsettling his remaining players, though I think the upsetting is already noticed, The jocks will surely be lifted by the top strikers demise, they will be looking at this game as a home fixture, which stands to reason as Rangers and Celtic may join the premiership in the not so distant future, they have won the last 2 league games under somewhat concerning conditions, they are fit that is for sure. Its true Rangers have their own style of football which has seen them pass plenty of European talent, this game will be no different, they will try to keep things level, and hit on the break and very likely to nick the winner at the end, like so many games in Britain are settled in injury time. Though I think Rangers will nick it, there is value in X2.

People should just be more careful when speaking about Pogrebnyak like he's the only player in the team...
