Zilina will be hosting Zlate Moravce in the last match of the first round of the Gorgon Liga. Tranva, Artmedia, Kosice and Nitra, 4 of the top 5 favorites have started with a victory, so Zilina, the last of the 5 favorites, have to do this also, not to have an early handicap.
Last season, Zilina finised second after Petrzalka, with a 14-2-1 home record and a 46-8 GD. ON the other hand, Zlate finished 11th, with a 0-4-13 record away and a 7-42 GD. Shocking difference in record, and also the direct results were pretty edifying, Zilina winning 4-1 at home and 6-1 away and 2-1 away.
This season, Zilina are a bit weaker, at least earlier in the season, as they've sold Breska, Ancic, Porazik, while new arrivals are not yet integrated perfectly. Zlate are as weak as last season, and they are relegation contenders again.
Zilina played 4 days ago in the UEFA Cup, and they drew 2-2 with MTZ RIPO Minsk, and this is why the game was delayed from Saturday to Monday. Still, Zilina at home will most likely win against the Belarus team easily, while there shouldn't be any fatigue issues this early in the season.
Zilina are title contenders along with Artmedia and they will most likely have a convincing start again weak Zlate Moravce. I expect a 3-goal difference today and Zilina to join the first round winners club. Good luck.
