Thumbs up Al Hilal-Enyimba 18/07/2008

Al Hilal reached the semi-final last season in this competition, and this season they are setting their target a notch higher, and rightfully so. They have gone 107 home games (in all competitions) without a single loss. That’s 7 years without a loss at home (Think Chelsea ;-)
Al-Hilal (translates Crescent) had their pre-season camp held in Tunisia, and have all their 1st team players ready, except –maybe- for Goodwin. Nigerian duo Cletchy and Youssof Mohammad alongside International Sudan team stars Haitham Mosstafa, Aladdin Youssef and Omar Bakheit are all on a good form, and coach Ricardo knows that winning this game could be the key to reaching the semi-final once more.
Enyimba are also a team that’s too tough to break at home, meaning both these teams will have a theoretical advantage at the start, but there could be drawn games that reshape the power balance of the group, and Enyimba will surely be targeting one here to strengthen their chances of progressing to the semis.
Although Enyimba crushed Club Africain 5-1 in Aba, Nigeria, they still lost 1-2 in Tunisia in the return leg. Some may argue they were already through after the first leg, and they maybe right, but the point is Enyimba lose much of their strength when on the road, much like most other African squads.
Arriving to Sudan after a closed camp, newly appointed managing duo; Austine Equavon and Ike Shorunmu promised their team will give verything they have to bring in the trophy for the 3rd time. Eguavon is an ex-international player who was in the winning squad of CAN 1994 title, as well as the 1st Nigerian appearance in a World Cup finals in the USA in the same year.
The two squads have never met eachother before, so there’s no H2H record to rely on, but the home side’s record at home is quite clearly an indication that they should do just enough to win the 3 points from the opening game.

Recommended bookmakers
Any serious punter should have accounts with as many bookmakers as possible. Some books don't cover all the games, others offer better odds, in-play betting... All following sportbooks I am using every day and I can recommend them all.
