Default Match 3.

Norwich are without a win thus far, but do have something to offer Birmingham, New striker Lupoli, he came on to a lost cause last week at 2-0 and within 5 minutes he made it 2-2, I don’t think he will have a better game than that, I think in this game he will become a Rooney and give away a penalty as he tries to defend the onslaught that is about to occur. Birmingham are the strongest in the Championship and rested keys, in the cup loss against Southampton, without a league loss and actually beating Southampton 2 weeks ago, says one thing to me, Promotion at all cost. McFadden and Larsson return and I expect new striker and top Irish scorer Mooney to play a part, my favorite league striker Philips will be around. Norwich’s Lupoli will have to start, otherwise their will be no return from the gloom for the home side as Brum will not feel threatened. Away win.

Today 1. division starts in Holland: Vitesse - Groningen

Vitesse has been very active on the transfermarket this summer. They sold Jansen (Twente), van der Schaaff (Burnley) and Swerts (AZ). All very important players. Vitesse was able to buy some good players in return:

Molhoek (AZ loaned to NAC) for Jansen, vd Struijk (Willem II) for Swerts and Jenner (AZ) for vd Schaaf. They also bought Tarvarjarvi from De Graafschap.

This seems to be a solid team to compete for European football next season. Not for today: Molhoek is suspended, Jenner and Tarvarjarvi are injured.

Also important midfielder Sansoni is suspended and because of these missings Kaya should play midfield but he's also injured.

Groningen sold Nijland last week to PSV. So Garcia-Garcia and Berg will play up front. Very good duo....one of them will score.

Defender Kruiswijk has been sold to Anderlecht....he will be replaced by Granqvist to new man from Wigan.

New signing Oluwafemi (midfield) is not in the team yet because of his late return from Olympics (not his mistake). Still Groningen midfield is strong enough to outplay the Vitesse midfield.

Groningen x2 8/10
Groningen 2 7/10

4th matchday 2. division Holland (next week i'll use the gap)

Eagles has no win so far....but that's a mixture of no luck and tough opponents. 1st week they were overplayed by VVV....5-0.....2nd week they were unlucky @ home vs. Fortuna....Fortuna equalized in 89'minute....
last week they played a very good match away vs. RKC Waalwijk....with a little more luck they coud've won this match.

They'll miss Vlug due to suspension but he would've been sidelined anyway because Overmars is fit enough to play from the start. Eagles has a new targetman Sander Post this Estonian player was man of the match last week with one goal and an unlucky header @ the crossbar. With the speed and experience of Overmars and goalwise targetman Post they'll overplay the Onmniworld defense.

Biggest problem with Omniworld is they always play really bad away from home. Omniworld won 1st match last week against poor Veendam.

The other 2 matches were against midtable teams Top Oss and RBC Roosendaal....both games were lost.

Home win....9/10

I agree with you on the Go Ahead Eagles match.

I don't agree with your vision on vitesse, i think they will have a terrible season with this new coach Westerhof, i have totally no faith in this trainer, he was trainer of WillemII a while ago and it was terrible we called him wegsterhof everyone wanted him out. But we'll see.

About Groningen winning away at Vitesse, it's risky, normally Groningen don't perform very well in away games, and its the 1st game very hard to predict, my guess is 0-0 but i won't bet on it.

True Lee, Zilina played a lot closer to my estimate than it seems they actually scored 4 times. I am bogged down now with English league study so will be brief, re Derry. These 2 have met 3 times this season and Derry have won all. The Finn Harps boss does not expect to perform a miracle. Home win.

Default Match 4. MK Dons v Swindon.

MK Dons say bye to skipper and mascot Andrews as he joins Blackburn, the only game he featured in this season, ended in a loss, the games with the new skipper have produced 6 points, Out of the league cup this team can focus on doing well in this league, they have plenty of talent on tap for De matteo to progress. Swindon, have 2 keys out, Striker Corr and more important Defender Vincent, they do have a couple of scorers on board but the good work up front is lost at the back with a very leaky line, this leak will continue until money is spent. Home win.

Default Update.

I need to stop people taking early prices on Reading, as Top defender/scorer/Talisman Sonko has left for Stoke. Reading are dropped.
