Blackburn v Grimsby.
8 changes for Blackburn as keys are rested, i do not know who will be able to score, the only good news is Santa Cruz and Gallagher are on the bench. Grimsby are having a hard time in the league with defenders dropping constant clangers, tonight they have keys returning and are playing with the hope of a shock. If things look like turning sour for Paul Ince, he will bring all the benched talent into play, I can not advise Blackburn with a handicap, but a one goal home advantage should be enough. After seeing team news, i feel very comfortable with Sunderland and Sheffield. Last edited by ENGLISH; 08-27-2008 at 09:45 PM. |

Mitjylland v Manchester City.
I can not secure team info on the home side but i think even their best will not be good enough tonight. The first leg saw City do everything but score, they were also fortunate to only have the one goal defficate. Missing players today are limited to just defender Dunne, tho some are carrying knocks. Striker Sturridge has found his feet and will be joined up front by the Brazilian hot shot Jo, who has returned from China on a high. City will go straight for the throat and get an early goal, which will put Mity on the back foot, i expect strong midfield play then to ensue with Elano dictating the play. We only need one goal, but City will press to finish this tie in normal time. Away win. Zilina v Liberec. No team news i am afraid, but Zilina are very powerfull at home and have yet to concede a home point this season in 4 outings, they are strong in all areas. Liberec, struggling in the domestic front have an away goal to over come and will throw players forward, Zilina will capitalize as their defenders repel and throw the ball over the attacking sides heads to instigate goals on the counter. Home win. |

Morning all, a couple of games i've had a look at in Scotland this weekend :
Celtic v Rangers The big one. Always a cracking match, this one is shaping up to follow suit. Before Celtic bought Maloney back i would have said 10/10 on a Rangers win. As he had such an effective debut however, my confidence has gone down slighlty. The Gers are still trying to find the correct striking partnership (personally i think Boyd and Velicka with Lafferty as attacking mid) but Mendes has reignited the midfield in Fergusons absence, but losing Cuellar was a blow. The Gers players also have more to prove after being dumped out of Europe. As ever, betting on the Old Firm derby is a risky affair but i tip Rangers, over 2.5. St.Mirren v Aberdeen Excellent odds here on the away win. St.Mirren still havent won in the league and only scored once, facing an Aberdeen side coming off the back of a draw with Rangers and a cup win and feeling confident. Aberdeen are an odd team, as when theyre good theyre excellent but otherwise are absolute garbage. After the draw with Rangers and the cup win, i see Calderwood getting a result out of his players. Away win |

A result tonight tho not as comfortable as expected, but a cracking result non the less.
Reading do have a long list of absent players and are sure to see big results as they return, up till now only one will be missed, Midfielder Cisse. Reading home or away are scoring goals and have only fell foul away to Charlton 4-2, they were on that day reduced to ten men when key defender and top scorer Sonko was sent off, his suspension has been served. With lots of changes made the manager saw the side he presented, destroy Luton in the cup, this match he is going to make changes and release some of that potential upon Palace. Crystal Palace have promised a preview but have yet to deliver, a bit like the team, There are problems among the ranks, with several players making it clear they are not happy at the club, and I think this shows in the current poor run of form, I think Warnocks lambasting of them has destroyed any promise shown last season. I am going for the home win, regardless who plays for Palace. |

A fine post of Dan Scotts from north of the border, his selection will see the light of day again, in the weekend summery, along with any other that holds water.
Swansea v Sheffield Weds. Without doubt Swansea are a team to be reckoned with, Tho Hull rested players in the cup, so did Swansea, as they envisage themselves moving into premiership contention, a draw then a win in penalties is a shot in the arm for the side that lost the opener against Charlton, since that defeat their has been no looking back. A full squad is available to the Spaniard who will rightly expect a sterling performance in front of a capacity welsh crowd. Sheffield may aspire to great things if only they could maintain a fully fit Eleven, they have had some joy from new man Esjasas, but are travling to Wales with 5 keys left behind, Defenders Hinds, Simek. Midfield Small, Strikers Sodje,Jeffers. Home win. |

Hungary. Zal v MTK.
Zal are tough to break down at home but if anyone can do it, it will be done today. Ireland. Limerick v Dundalk. Limerick have for the first time this season a full squad, Dundalk have 3 strikers and a central defender missing. The Gap does not quite reach my criteria in favour of the away sides. I am playing a Draw double and HT 1 FT 2 on both. I may drop all the premiership games for the weekend, they are just not playing ball, Man u will go for the win tonight, Nani, Hargrieves and Park return, Zenit may play Ashavin, tho perhaps not, as the bloke is a tad hacked off re Spurs. A Manchester convincing win will help me decide on the weekend games. France. Some success last season, mainly thru the French magician Shakeel, I will not bet against him this term, perhaps he will comment on the following picks, for tonight. Strasbourge, 6-1+2+16=23. Chaterouxe, 2-2-0+5=5, Gap 18, Home win. Lens, 7-4+3+19=25. Clermont, 2-2-0+2=2+, Gap 23-, Home win. Angers, 8-3+5+25=35. Brest, 3-4-0+5=4, Gap 31, Home win. |
