French League One: Nancy v St Etienne - Home.
Take on Asian Handcicap -0.25 for prudence.:D
Nancy and Monaco are practically elbow to Elbow at the top of the French League One, both having 13 points and an identical goal tally of 11-4. Monaco currently placed on top have played one game more and is also playing earlier a difficult encounter at improved and ambitious Bordeaux. If Monaco lose Nancy can take the lead even without playing and that will last for a short time as Nancy play some three hours later.
Nancy are theonly unbeaten team in the league as now and are unbeaten in five games with four wins and one draw and will push to get the win when hosting 10th placed St Etienne tonight. They are praying for a slip of Monaco, but have to rely on their own strength to get the points and possibly go clear at the top.
Nancy are well prepared and will also look forward to take revenge of the two defeats conceded to St Etienne in the last two encounters with their tonight visitors. In August last year St Etienne at home won on Nancy by 1-0 and in January this year they again won by 2-0 while playing away.
Nancy currently have the means to do better with their youngsters who are well set in the game. They are constantly improving and Nancy are scoring more as compared to their usual tight games of last season.
St Etienne have an average records of 2W-2D-2L but cannot anyway underestimated as in these six matches they met only teams in the top nine. The two wins were at home on Valenciennes (3rd) and Strasbourg (7th) , The draws were away against Leaders Monaco and at home against Bordeaux (4th). The two losses were both away at good at home Rennes (5th) and no less than Lyon and they lost both by the minimum 1-0 score.
St Etienne can be expected to deliver a tough game to Nancy tonight and it would require a fully fit and concentrated Nancy to win tonight.
I would nevertheless choose the home side here as Nancy inspire confidence with their six successive wins in last six home games scoring a total of 15 goals in them , while St Etienne are winless in their last five away games with four 1-0 defeats and a 1-1 draw.
As regards the team news, Nancy will have their full squad who also come fresher as they rested on Wednesday while ASSE played against Strasbourg. St Etienne will mis their best and key player, the Guinean Mouhamoudou Dabo.
I choose the home with the -0.25 ball handicap
2. Real Zaragoza v Racing Santander - Away win or take on Asian Handicap (+0.75) Odds are very good.
Zaragoza are on a bad run and lost three in a row. They lost their first game 2-1 to promoted Murcia. Racing can do well and although winless in three they nevertheless drew two of these games of which a 0-0 with barcelona in first league game. They lost at Bolton by 2-1.
Racing Santander will not surprise if they win or draw.;):D
