Two words JAN VEMEER! Drifted to 3/1 amazing price if you ask me... St nics abbey and cane blanco both withdrawn leaving o'brien main hope jan veneer. Midas touch should be ruled out cracking perfomance behind jan vemeer in his 2nd last race. Bullet train dissapointed in his last run and although that was dissapointing he can slightly be forgiven as I don't think tom quelly came his best jockey performance. But I think bullet train lacks that top class speed required at derby level. Obviously workforce will attract support firstly as he's trained by Mr stoute and secondly because he has champion jockey Ryan Moore on board. Stoute has a decent record in the derby however not as impressive as o'brien who's sole aim every year is to win the derby. Anyway workforce has shown glimpses of brillance and there is no doubt the horse will win a group 1 however I think the ground maybe too fast for him today and he's up against better horses so needs much improvement if he's to win. Rewilding is an interesting runner and maybe close too the front and try and stretch the field frankie done the same tactic yesterday on shakspearean and it worked treat so I certainly wouldn't rule him out espically if the money comes for him just before the off!!

The other horse is jan veneers stablemate Midas touch who is another horse with great pedigree for staying as well as speed critical on the ups and downs of epsom track. Obviously when st nic abbey pulled out along with cape blanco jonny murtagh had 1st pick of what horse he wanted to ride and he chose jan vemeer which leads me to believe at home on the gallops he's obviously shown better time performances.

So in conclusion all my thoughts are for jan vemeer even if st nic abbey was in the race today I must admit i'd be on vemeer so I think that speaks volumes. If he's gets settled early on he's going to be really difficult to beat.

1) jan vemeer
2) workforce
3) Midas touch
