Wayne Routledge, Anthony Gardner and Ledley King are all unavailable through injury. Aaron Lennon’s return from injury was confirmed with a good performance against Middlesbrough mid-week.

Norwegian striker John Carew is expected to be out for up to six weeks with knee ligament damage. Togan transfer deadline day signing Moustapha Salifou has had his work permit granted so could be amongst the squad if fit. Loan signing from West Brom, Curtis Davies is unlikely to start after he labelled his own performance in the week against Leicester as “not good enough”.

Tottenham will be with higher confidence after the mid-week win against Midlesbrough fot the Carling cup.Aston Villa hasn't yet score an away goal this season, but i think this is the right moment for them to score against the shaky Spurs defence.Big boost for Marin Jol's side will be the return of Aaron Lennon, who IMO was the key factor for Tottenham's success last year. Villa have a copy of him in the face of Ashley Young, so the key factor in this game will be the defence and maybe Villa have a slight advantage.But Tottenham have the better attacking units in the face of Bale, Berbatov, Keane. It will be a typical game between an attacking home side and a defencive away side. I expect an interesting Monday game, like usual, with goals falling in both goals
