To starting off poker the best way is first play poker without money just for fun, when you feel you are expert then play with money.

First off, never play for free. You will never learn that way as when people are not protecting something(IE: their money), they don't play properly, therefore you are playing bingo rather than poker. Play for LOW STAKES(very low if needs be but never for nothing)

What you need to do is get a good book. There are loads of them. Do a google on "beginners guide to poker" or something like that. The best book is Doyle Brunson - Super system but that may be too advanced for you now.

Some websites have good tips and tools, you will find links to these websites on my blog poker page: Expert VALUE Betting Tips / Picks: POKER (http://www.nics-value-picks.com/2009/07/poker.html) if you wish

First thing you need to learn is what cards to play and where/how to play them.

There are many ways of starting off in poker, but the most important way is by reading, and then playing poker at stakes your bankroll can sustain. You can get yourself acquainted with the rules and structure of play by playing on “play money” tables on sites like Pokerstars, but this won’t teach you nearly as much as a book like Getting Started in Hold ‘em or Phil Gordon’s Little Green Book. These books will teach you enough that you can grasp the fundamentals of poker, and begin playing for money.

for me, if you are a beginner, ask for an assistance on how to play poker, search on the best Site whom offer their online Casino...
focus on the game not on the dealer...
most men accept lose bet whenever they see a beautiful dealer...
Learn from your loses...:elefant:
