And just like that, we are in the last round of the group stage of the Champions league. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was posting about the first round :) Time sure is cruel at times, and tonight, the last 10 minutes of the game will seem like hours for teams grasping on to their victory that will pull them through to the knockout stages or a place in the UEFA cup. Who will be of lucky fate and who will bow down to the glorious CHL we will see. Make no mistake...tonight, we are sure to lose some mohey! :D

Here's a mind blower for you.. Any of the top 3 teams can go through, and any of the same can drop out. The fun part is, all must think of wining if they are to provide a result, no draws allowed, except maybe Roma, but then again, who would want to sit back and calculate!? Chelsea in trouble? Well...not if they play their game, non nonsense football and execute their chances. CFR pulled a stunner in the opening rounds against Roma and then a draw with Chelsea, but realistically I don't think it's gonna happen tonight. But hey.. It wouldn't hurt to play single, 10 euros on CFR Cluj and have a nice laugh at the end of the day :D
The "expected" outcome though... well, I think I speak for everyone when I say we expect Chelsea to win, HT/FT 1/1, CHelsea -1 Handicap, and Over. This is what "should" arrive here tonight. The highest value you'll find on the net is the Over @ 1.55. Even the "Goal scorer" odds aren't so pretty.. 1.55 for either Drogba or Anelka to score at any time. There is one option though, that's of good value, and worth the risk. Aside from the "Over" pick which I purpose to play today, try playing this : Last goal to be scored between the 76minute to the 90th minute. Odds are 1.80 over at Bwin. Here's why.... No matter what the scenario, whether in the 76th minute we have a draw, Chelsea lead or even CFR lead, one team is bound to want to score! This way we avoid any crazy result here, yet have our money on a "smart" bet...

Pick : Over @ 1.55
Pick : Last goal to be scored : 76min - 90min @ 1.80
Alt Pick : Anelka to score any time @ 1.55
Alt Pick : Ballack to score at any time @ 2.00 (Looking for a free kick here)

Value Pick : 10 euro single : CFR Cluj to win @ 17.50 (why the hell not....)

Roma MUST win...... Bordeaux MUST win :) It's as simple as that. Yes, very simple...Reading the papers, Blanc says his team will be on the counter attack.
"It would be wrong to begin the game thinking we're going to score a quick goal – that's just not our game," said the Bordeaux trainer. "Much better to get our shape right and to wait for the right moment to score. It would surprise me if Roma went out on the attack, though it would not be such a bad thing for us. It would mean they would be taking risks to get a goal and we could take advantage."
This sums up my thoughts and prediction for tonight. Although Bordeaux must win if they want to go through, they also can't risk losing. It's simple mathematics, Bordeaux lose, CFR win and Bordeaux don't even make it through to play in the Uefa cup. Same goes for Roma... My suggestion...well, I'll be bold to say draw, but more so, Under!

Pick : Halftime or Fulltime (bet wins if result is true either at halftime or fulltime) DRAW @ 1.65
Pick : Under @ 1.85
Alt pick : Draw @ 3.65

Value bet : HT/FT X/X @ 5.75

Group B

Oh man....I'm all open for suggestions in this one :) Crazy situation here.. We have a team such as Inter, who thanks to the "final round matchups" will go through no matter what happens in any of the two matches (again, mathematics in play here). So what to expect of this match?! Well, Werder are least to say "pissing their fans off!" 4 draws, 1 loss and 0 wins! in the CHL, yet they still have a chance of making it through, well at least to the Uefa cup draw. Unfortunately for them, no matter how the outcome is, from the Panat - Anor. match, they can't qualify for the knockout round. So what are they to do but go out there and win it for the crowd. Can they beat the in form Inter, that doesn't need the win to go through..!? Sitting in 10th position in their domestic league, they can't afford to lose. The home crowd will be pressing them on all the way, and I think we have a fair chance of winning with Bremen...

Pick : Werder @ 2.65
Alt pick : Under @ 1.95 (tough, but acceptable)

Value Pick : HT/FT Werder/Inter @ 26.00 (5-10 Euros single on this pick)

Ten Cate hungry for a birthday treat
Greece needs a draw here to go through. Panathinaikos have done a great job in the last 2 rounds and put them selves in a great position now. Their oversea counterpart have been a great surprise in this years CHL but I have a feeling tonight wont be so fortunate for them. More so because Panat. wants revenge for all the losses both them and Olympiakos suffered to this team. It will be a fanatic and strong home crowd behind the home team. A good chance to win and take top spot in the group...besides, don't forget the prize money they get if they win and finish on top. (This applies for Anorthosis as well, but i think home soil will make the difference here).

Pick : Panathinaikos @ 1.55
Alt pick : 2-3 goals @ 1.95 (check your local bookies, not the internet)

I would avoid both these matches here. Simply because the top two teams don't need to win to go through and yet their opponents need a win to prove something. Barcelona won't "Give" Shakhtyor a win, they might even win this one, but the former Russian side will surely try to take all the points home and upset Sporting. Sporting on the other hand will take it easy and defend hard. They can not afford to concede a goal. So safe to play Under here and X2.

Barcelona - Shakhtar
Pick : Barcelona @ 1.45

Basel - Sporting
Pick : X2 @ 1.37

All is well known here, and nothing can change the outcome. It's just a matter of what away team from the two will "give" points away.... I'd choose 1X and under in both these two games.

Marseille - Atletico Madrid
Pick : 1X @ 1.30
Alt pick : Under @ 1.80

PSV Eindhoven - Liverpool
Pick : 1X @ 1.30
Alt pick : Under @ 1.80
